PLANNING GUIDE / Cabinetry, surfaces and flooring

A warm modern kitchen.

Choose wood tones, cabinet fronts, and stone that work together in your kitchen.

Warm oak flat front cabinetry paired with an ivory stone island

Start with the materials you will use across the room. Compare the cabinet front, countertop, and floor samples together before choosing each finish.

Begin with a simple backdrop.

Flat cabinet fronts give tall storage, base cabinets, and the island a consistent appearance. Plan appliance panels and full height cabinets together so their edges and openings align.

Compare wood samples beside the countertop and floor. Pale oak can look warmer next to ivory stone and cooler next to gray. Check the combination in daylight and evening light.

Compare your samples.

Look at large samples where possible. A small piece of stone may not show the full vein pattern, and wood grain can vary across a cabinet run.

The floor and cabinets do not need to match. Compare their undertones and grain to find a combination you like.

Plan your storage.

Plan drawer contents, appliance openings, lighting, and the items that stay on the countertop before approving the cabinet layout.

Bring a room plan and material references to the showroom. We can review cabinetry, countertops, and flooring together, then plan the storage around how you use the space.
